wrote many bestselling Golden Books, including The Golden Egg Book,
Home for a Bunny, and The Color Kittens. KATHRYN JACKSON penned
hundreds of lively, witty stories for Golden Books, including Tawny
Scrawny Lion and Nurse Nancy.
RICHARD SCARRY, one of the best-loved children’s book creators
ever, began his career in the late 1940s at Golden Books. His 1963
book I Am a Bunny is an icon. ELOISE WILKIN is known for her
beautiful paintings of cherubic children and scenes of nature in
the dozens of Golden Books she illustrated over decades. Caldecott
Medalists ALICE AND MARTIN PROVENSEN began to illustrate books
together in the mid-1940s, many of them for Golden Books, including
The Fuzzy Duckling and The Color Kittens. GARTH WILLIAMS brought to
life some of the best-loved children’s books of the twentieth
century, including Charlotte’s Web and the Little House books by
Laura Ingalls Wilder. BOB STAAKE is the creator of many books for
