About the Author

During her career, Professor Eleanor O Leary hasauthored a number of innovative books including New Approachesto Integration in Psychotherapy in 2006.The outcome ofherresearch has also been published in a number of leading academicjournals. She was Professor and Head of the Department of AppliedPsychology, University College Cork, Ireland and Visiting Professorat Stanford University, USA. She is currently a Visiting Professorat the University of Malaga, Spain. She is also accreditationsofficer of the European Institute of Integrative Psychotherapy, andHonorary Life Chairperson of the Irish Gestalt Society. Apracticing psychotherapist and supervisor, Professor O Learyis also a Fellow of the Psychological Society of Ireland and in2000 received its Special Award for Outstanding Contribution toPsychology. Her varied career has given her a unique insight intothe development and application of gestalt therapy.
