Dr. Seth Jenny has worked as a fresh seafood clerk in Anchorage, Alaska, a recreation supervisor for court-appointed delinquent boys in Pennsylvania, a room attendant in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, a U.S. Air Force exercise physiologist at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, a substitute teacher in inner-city Philadelphia, a k-12 health & physical education teacher just outside St. Louis, Missouri, and student taught in Mexico City, Mexico. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico (Albuquerque), a M.Sc. from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), a B.S. from Slippery Rock University (SRU) of Pennsylvania, and studied abroad at the University of Limerick (Ireland). As an athlete, Dr. Jenny twice captained the NCAA D-II SRU cross country & track teams, was an Academic All-American steeplechaser, and has run the Boston Marathon twice. Currently, Dr. Jenny is a professor in the Department of Physical Education, Sport & Human Performance at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA. While he has authored numerous peer-reviewed academic journal articles, "Marathon's Walk in the Woods: An Appalachian Trail Thru-hike" is his first book.
