Australian alt-country queen Kasey Chambers takes a detour from her acclaimed solo career for RATTLIN' BONES, a duo album with her husband, Shane Nicholson. Chambers and Nicholson wrote the songs both together and separately, but on each one their voices blend in a rich, seamless manner that suggests they've been studying the harmonies of Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris. Stylistically, the album alternates between contemporary-sounding alt-country, and more traditional settings, making for an agreeably rootsy mix.
