Angels, vampires, and superhumans engage in the classic struggle of good vs. evil, even when it's hard to distinguish between the two. Singh's "Guild Hunter" entry, Angel's Wolf, introduces vampire Noel, and Ilona Andrews's Alphas: Origins lays the groundwork for what hopefully is a new and exciting series about reality-jumping superhumans of alien origin. The most romantic of the collection, Sharon Shinn's Nocturne, returns to her Samaria setting where a blind angel is helped by a woman who hates angels but needs his help.
