About the Author

Alice Mackrell is a costume and art historian, specializing in the history of fashion plates. She is a graduate of the Courtauld Institute of Art, London and the author of An Illustrated History of Fashion (0713486724), Shawls, Stoles and Scarves, Paul Poiret and Coco Chanel. She also revised and updated The History of 20th Century Fashion (0713486929). She lives in London.
