Henry Blumenthal B.A, LL.B. (Witwatersrand University Johannesburg) 1976-1996 Founder and Principal of Studywell College in Johannesburg, a Private School which developed a successful system for the academic improvement of High School students who were previously underachieving. Classes were smaller than classes in Government Schools, which allowed more personal attention from teachers. After school hours, students with a weakness in a subject were offered programmes to fill in missing or weak foundations - thus providing a firmer base on which to build. NB: it was noted that some students had previously been labelled with various forms of learning difficulty. By largely ignoring the label, and handling the symptoms EDUCATIONALLY, students' academic performance improved. 1980-1996 Founder and Educational Adviser of SE College, Johannesburg. The College offered children from black communities quality education. The school became Multi- racial when the politics of the country permitted. 1983 Co-founder of Banking Business Studies Johannesburg, an evening College which ran classes for employees in the Banking sector wishing to write the exams set by the Institute of Bankers in S.Africa. 2000 Literacy officer with a High School in the New South Wales Education Department.
