Paul Arculus was born in England but graduated from High School in
Ontario and received his post secondary education in Canada and in
the United States.
He has a B.A. in Psychology from McMaster University, a B.Ed from
the University of Toronto, an M.A in history and an M.S.in Ed, both
from Niagara University in New York.
He taught in several locations in Ontario and in England but spent
the last 20 years of his career teaching history at Port Perry High
School.
Since retiring he has written extensively on Canadian history and
has published several books.
His latest book, a biography of Dr. Edwin Campbell, a local boy who
became a founder of the Chevrolet Motor Company is entitled
Durant's Right-Hand Man.
He is also a regular contributor to Focus on Scugog, a monthly news
and information magazine in the municipality of Scugog.
Paul has given talks on Ontario History to Historical Societies,
Genealogical Societies and community groups, all over Southern
Ontario.
He has also given historical walks in communities in Scugog
Township including Port Perry, Greenbank, Prince Albert and
Blackstock.
For his work in Canadian History he has received a number of awards
including the lieutenant Governor`s Ontario Heritage Award in 2009
and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee award in 2013.
Paul lives in Port Perry with his wife Isabel who is a retired
elementary school teacher. They have three sons, all married and
living in Ontario....
