They also drive thought provoking discussions surrounding popular nutrition topics through social media and publications in mainstream press.

Reviews

In a world plagued by fad diets and wellness gurus, Helen and Rosie cut through the fog of foodie misinformation with a refreshingly open and honest, evidence-based approach; translating the geek-speak of academic journals into really fun and engaging read. I learnt so much on every page!A book the world needs. It arms readers with knowledge and crucially, it allows them to enjoy food without the side servings of guilt and anxiety so often served with it.We're living through a wellness crisis right now: what does a 'healthy diet' even mean? Enter, The Rooted Project. From tumeric lattes, to placenta pills; veganism to keto - dieticians Rosie Saunt and Helen West not only provide us with some vital myth-busting, (spoiler alert: sugar doesn't cause cancer), they remove the moral stigma from food and break down the science, to provide easy, accessible evidence-based advice on how to live your healthiest and happiest life.In a world where figuring out what to eat seems to get more confusing by the day, Rosie and Helen are akin to the chill big sisters you need to help you figure out what's what. Their book tackles the topics, trends, and myths that swirl around the world of nutrition with a nuanced and nonjudgmental tone, addressing both micro concepts (wait-does sugar cause acne?) and macro concepts like diet culture, the sustainability of our diets, and what exactly constitutes 'evidence' what talking about nutrition. Eating should not be stressful or dominate your thoughts; Is Butter a Carb is your guide to getting back to eating joyfully, realistically, and nourishingly.Covering everything from fad diets to the modern panic around gluten, [Rosie and Helen] deep-dive into the pseudoscience that surrounds food, and counteract it with the latest clear and easy-to-digest scientific research on various points of contention. A perfect bedtime read for anyone who feels overwhelmed by the diet industry and its many conflicting 'rules'. - Nottingham Post
