Born and raised in Faizabad, Rakesh Bhasin is a graduate in Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur and a postgraduate from IIT Delhi. He also acquired an MPhil in Social Sciences from Punjab University.
Besides engineering, the author has cultivated an interest in literature, history and the occult sciences. He has read extensively in Hindi, English, Punjabi and Urdu languages. Among his varied interests, that include photography, music, travelling and fine arts, writing remains his passion.
In the past, he has co-authored two published volumes of selected stories of Munshi Premchand (abridged). His interest in Astrology culminated in a book on the subject.
This book mirrors his affinity with Awadh's history, which he imbibed as he wandered in the lanes of Faizabad and Lucknow.
