About the Author

DIANA KAPISZEWSKI has served as Director for Academic Programs at Georgetown University's Center for Latin American Studies from August, 1996 through August, 2000, and is currently a doctoral student in the Department of Political Science at UC Berkeley. ALEXANDER KAZAN has worked at the Inter-American Development Bank and at the G-7 Group, and contributes articles on foreign affairs to politicallylatino.com. His publications include Social Protection for Equity and Growth, and John Hopkins/Inter-American Development Bank, 2000 (contributing author).
