"A truly essential read for those interested in lived experiences-and not just statistics." - Darren 'Loki' McGarvey, author of Poverty Safari (Orwell Prize 2018). "We need more books like this-authentic and brutally honest about growing up in the lowlands of working class Scotland. What Martin allows the reader to do is to come to their own answer to that staple question of social sciences-nature or nurture?" - David Wilson, Emeritus Professor of Criminology and author of bestselling A History of British Serial Killing (2010). "EUPHORIC RECALL is powerful and gritty-a memoir that explores addiction from the inside, rather than through the hazy lens of statistics and remote experts. An illuminating and important book." - Adam Alter, author of New York Times bestsellers Irresistible (March 2017) and Drunk Tank Pink (2013).
