BRIAN E. FOGARTY is a professor of sociology at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has written for a variety of publications, including the Aspen Institute Quarterly, Peace and Change, and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Fogarty received the college's Carol Easley Denny Award and previously published War, Peace, and the Social Order. He lives in St. Paul.
