"Framing a Family, by Robin Marvel, is a wonderful book. I've
followed Robin for several years and have seen how she interacts
with her children and the positive examples she shows them. I was
excited for the chance to read her newest book. Throughout Framing
a Family, Robin shares real life examples that prove she lives by
the advice she gives. She's honest about her background, her
childhood, and her early motherhood. She easily could have become a
statistic, following the lead of the life she was shown. Instead,
she chose courage and honesty, and she chose to live an authentic
life, one that is positive and nurturing for her five girls. Some of
the chapters are: Being an Example, Forgiveness, Gratitude, and
Kindness, along with many more. What I like about this book,
besides the use of real life examples, is that the author shares
tools and hands on exercises so that you can incorporate the wisdom
into your own life. While this is a book that is perfect to read
before you have children, or while they're young, it's one that's
never too late to read. Even if your children are older, or grown,
there is still advice that pertains to building and strengthening a
family. If there aren't young children in your life currently,
there is still knowledge here that helps women honor their beliefs
and fortify their self-worth. I highly recommend Framing a
Family.
-- Trisha Faye, author of Trail Angel Mama"Have you ever wondered
how to have a balanced parenting style without over protecting but
also create a family of love, inspiration and unity? Do you want to
build a strong foundation to raise confident children? Robin Marvel
teaches how to have a strong family, inspire you to build the walls
of your home with encouragement, empowerment, and most importantly
in love and then how to let go of expectations and embrace the hard
times and the good times with an open mind, ready to learn and
ready to strengthen as a family unit.Framing a Family will help all
parents; you will find advice, techniques, ideas and hands on
activities to add value and encouragement in your own family
unit.Becoming a parent for the first time is not an easy task. I
went from my freedom of me, to giving all of my time and energy to
my child. Every parent will learn lessons as they go about becoming
the best parent they figure out to be. There is no right or wrong
way. I enjoyed reading Robin Marvel's book and learned a lot even
though I have already raised my child. This is a great book if you
are becoming a parent for the first time. If I had to leave you all
with a sentence of advice it would be: to respect yourself, know
your worth and never let anyone take away from who you really
are."
-- Jackie Paulson"Framing A Family is so insightful and engaging,
it made me want more! Your advice on starting with ourselves was
spot-on. Growing up as you did and having your daughter so young
certainly gave you strength and determination. I think the
activities you included are great tools to build confidence and
acceptance. In this fast-paced world we live in, we must make our
families number one at the top of our 'To Do' lists! In just the
first two chapters, I could see what a wonderful and helpful guide
your book will be for so many families. Any time we share joy with
another, we make the world we all live in a better place. With all
the people that live on this earth, the ripples are endless, the
gift priceless! Thank you so much for letting me read your words of
wisdom and love."
