'The book's longevity says it all.' Water Craft (January 2010) 'The book was first published in 1970, so with the many re-issues and a second edition in 2002, it would seem to have been of much interest to the sailing world for around the past 40 years. The owners of any gaff-rigged yachts you observe have very likely studied this handbook.' Nautical Magazine (March 2010) 'A compendium of the history, design, techniques and developments of gaff rig, profusely illustrated with historic photographs and the author's excellent diagrams and drawings, this is the revised and extended 1994 version of the original 1970 Gaff Rig...The book's longevity says it all.'
