Reviews

`Sources and indifference to economic and social history, and weakness ... are sympathetically discussed and the reputation of the ancients staunchly defended. An ideal introduction for the student.' - Greece & Rome

`It combines a great deal of useful information about the main literary sources for ancient history and about historiography as a literary genre, with some salutary warnings against taking those sources at face value.' - ?
