About the Author

Bev Roberts works with business women to transform their well-being by 'rewiring' to create healthy habits and lasting change. She is a certified well-being transformation specialist and holds a Master's Degree in Behavioural Change and Strategy. Though chronic illness robbed Bev of a successful career as an award-winning and board-certified executive and accredited master change leadership consultant, she reinvented herself and retrained her brain through her love of learning. Her approach to health and change draws on neuroplasticity and holistically integrates four facets of well-being - physical, mental, emotional and soulful. Bev is an advocate for those with invisible chronic illnesses, a voice and champion for those needing the critical knowledge and language to change their circumstances despite their current condition. Courageous and vulnerable, Bev insightfully articulates her open-hearted, pragmatic message to empower all who need it. Bev enjoys a quiet beachside lifestyle and is a Glam-ma to two beautiful granddaughters who help her to stay curious, playful and joyful.

Reviews

"A practical and inspirational whole-self guide to getting your life back!" Deanna Minich, PhD, author of The Rainbow Diet"'Hope in a Dark Tunnel' is powerful in giving others hope and a resolve to face their own problems. But this book gives the reader more than hope, it outlines a path to follow. A path leading to not only recovery from physical illness, but to dealing with life's challenges as a whole. I warmly recommend it!" Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride, MD, bestselling author of Gut and Psychology Syndrome"Bev has created a brilliant roadmap for those with chronic debilitating illness to find their way out of the Dark Tunnel of despair, and to rebuild a life of hope and health one do-able step at a time. Both simple steps and complex processes are laid out in a way that allows the ill and their carers to work their way through from despair to triumph over adversity. It is a must-read for everyone touched by chronic health problems." Dr Mark Donohoe, MB BS FASLM"Masterfully structured, 'Hope in a Dark Tunnel' provides just that and then some. Bev Roberts speaks from, and to, the heart in chronicling her trying journey through the shadows of chronic illness so that others might be saved unnecessary pain. It's a must-read and matchless reference companion for anyone in, or connected to, that struggle." Dr Bridget Cooper, bestselling author of Pain Rebel and Little Landslides"Bev's journey is unfortunately common, and yet so often hidden as those suffering are dismissed, shamed and blamed--especially when their illness is not visible. 'Hope in a Dark Tunnel' seeks to upend all of that by empowering you to advocate for your own wellness, be in touch with your body, and provide it the compassion and help it needs to be well." Bryan Falchuk, bestselling author of Do a Day: How to live a better life every day"If you are one of the millions of people struggling with chronic illness with no relief in sight, let Bev be your guide back to hope. She's been where you are, and she has the know-how and actionable steps you need to experience better health and well-being." Andrea Beaman, Holistic Health Coach, Herbalist"There is much wisdom and depth in this relatively short book. If anyone is suffering physically, mentally or even spiritually, read it. If a friend or family member is not firing on all cylinders, read it. If you are just OK and want to stay well, read it too. It's a story and message bravely shared which deserves to reach a wide audience." Tom Evans, Insight Timer meditation guide and co-author of The Big "Chronic illness is the pits. It's invisible and nearly always isolating. People tend to comment on how you look without any enquiry about how you feel. Bev is incredibly knowledgeable and shares what she's learned so you don't have to search for information that's helpful to your recovery." Petrea King, author of Up Until Now
