When Kate Messner was little, she used to follow her parents’ dinner guests around the house with piles of books, hoping for a read-aloud. Sibert Honor Book; Seadogs: An Epic Ocean Operetta, written by Lisa Wheeler, winner of the Texas Bluebonnet Award; the author of Moving House and several other graphic novels and children’s picture books.
