Tim Winton has published 20 books for adults and children, and his work has been translated into 25 languages. Since his first novel, An Open Swimmer, won the Australian/Vogel Award in 1981, he has won the Miles Franklin Award four times and twice been shortlisted for the Booker Prize. A passionate environmentalist, he currently lives on the Western Australian coast with his wife and three children. David has been working in theatre, film, television and radio for many years. He has appeared regularly on the Melbourne fringe-theatre circuit and performed for the Playbox Theatre Company and the Melbourne Theatre Company. In 1993 he won the Green Room Award for Best Actor for his role in Angels in America. David has appeared in various television series including State Coroner, Blue Heelers, Halifax f.p. and The Secret Life of Us.
