Formative years in Somerset; karting with support from his father, who prepared his karts; graduation to Formula Ford in 1998 and F3 in 1999. F1 with Williams, frequently putting established team-mate Ralf Schumacher under pressure. Tough times during his first year driving for Renault in 2001, followed by a year of maturing and picking up the pace. To BAR-Honda, facing up to team-mate Jacques Villeneuve and eventually gaining the upper hand to consolidate his role as team-leader for 2004. After controversy over contract negotiations, the up-and-down 2005 and 2006 seasons, including Jenson's sensational debut win in Hungary in 2006. Character-building 2007 and 2008 seasons driving an uncompetitive Honda - followed by Honda's withdrawal from F1 and an uncertain future for Jenson. The fairytale 2009 season race-by-race, from dominant debut win in Australia, to clinching the Drivers' and Manufacturers' World Championships with a stunning drive in Brazil, and including the final round at Abu Dhabi.
