Puakea Nogelmeier is professor emeritus at the University of
Hawaiʻi at Mānoa where he taught Hawaiian language for thirty-five
years and founded the Institute of Hawaiian Language Research and
Translation. He is cofounder and executive director of Awaiaulu.
