About the Author

Bob Breen graduated from Royal Military College, Duntroon, in 1973. During his time in service, he developed an interest in Australian military history, publishing First to Fight in 1988. His research and writing in the following years covered Australia's military involvement in Korea, Africa and the Middle East. He works as Operations Analyst at Land Command, analysing recent Australian miltary operations and advising on the planning and conduct of contemporary operations. His most recent focus has been Australia's participation in peacekeeping operations in Bouganville in 1994 and 1998.
