About the Author

Mary E. Darby was born in Chester, South Carolina, the eldest of nine children. She grew up in Washington, D.C. and moved to Los Angeles, California as a young adult. For more than 30 years, Mary taught elementary school while raising her two daughters, Sylvia and Nicole and grandson, Brandon. Mary has been writing poetry as long as she can remember. Her poetic motivation is to express her emotions and inspire others through the journey of life. Mary's work touches a universal cord due to her dept of faith and real understanding of the human condition. Living by Faith is her first book of poetry.
