My name is Susan Horsnell and I write both Western Historical and Contemporary. I also have 2 children's books. You'll find Mail Order Brides, a Mail Order Governess and even a Mail Order Ranger just to include the males of the species. There are knock 'em down, drag 'em out fights, gruesome murders and a gun toting, cussing, female saloon owner. I also have two books which explore how a blind child would cope on a ranch in the days of the Wild West. In every book there is a beautiful heroine and a dashingly handsome hero. Sometimes their happy endings seem unlikely but they do eventually get there. I hope you enjoy exploring my books and look forward to hearing from you. 5 stars *****After reading March, by this same author, in the Calendar Men series, I was so pleased to discover there was a Calendar Gals series.March is a wonderful story of the Queensland outback and a beautiful romance.Emmalynne Peters, a recently retired famous model, starts her new life on a family outback property where she aims to set up an animal sanctuary.Meeting new neighbour, Nick Johnson, is an interesting and rather adventurous experience too. The humour in the story, very dry most of it and perfect for this outback story, is thoroughly entertaining and delightful. As well, the honesty of the lead characters, toward each other, is so refreshing and enjoyable to read. Both Emmalynne and Nick are extremely likeable and the more descriptors used to build up their characters, the more I like them both.Another fabulous aspect is the Aussie outback history that is described so well plus the scenes on the land. Having been to Longreach a few times it felt like I was actually there, walking through the Hall of Fame, driving around town and seeing that same architecture, out in the paddocks under the sun, fantastic memories brought to life. This fast paced, easy to read story has only one problem for me... I didn't want it to end!
