Lew Watts was born and raised in Cardiff, Wales, and educated at the universities of Bristol and Reading, earning a First Class honors degree and PhD in geology. After working in Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and Africa, he moved to the United States in 2002. His poetry has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, and his first collection Lessons for Tangueros was published in 2011. He currently sits on a number of corporate boards and received an honorary doctorate in science from Bristol University in 2016. He lives in Chicago and Santa Fe with his wife, Roxanne Decyk.
