About the Author

The Author: David Geoffrey Smith was born in China during the Maoist revolution, then raised in the twilight of British colonialism in Central Africa. He has published widely in the areas of curriculum theory, teacher education, cultural studies, and pedagogy. Currently he is professor of Education and Director of the Centre for the Study of Pedagogy and Culture at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
