The late Simms Taback won a Caldecott Honor Award for "There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly" and the Caldecott Medal for "Joseph Had a Little Overcoat," of which "The Horn Book" wrote, "The art sings with color and movement and humor and personality." He also produced award-winning titles for Blue Apple Books, such as "Peek-a-Boo, Who?" (2006 Scholastic Parent & Child Best Book of the Year) and "Simms Taback's Big Book of Words" (2004 Child Best Book of the Year, 2004 Parenting Book of the Year Award winner, and 2004 Parents' Choice Gold Award winner).
