Angela and Michaelanne Petrella are sisters from Ohio who enjoy creating many horrible recipes together. Angela works at Pixar in the Story department, and Michaelanne is a writer. Mike Bertino and Erin Althea live in Los Angeles, CA with their twin four-year old daughters, Juniper and Scarlett. Most days are spent drawing, painting, wiping boogers, kissing boo-boos and concocting merely edible meals for each other. They eat a lot of Sriracha and honey (but not usually together).
"Recipe is the kind of hilarious, high-energy, exciting, joyful, unpredictable, wonderful book that will delight anyone who is a child, was a child, or hopes to become a child." --Elliott Kalan, comic genius and host of The Flophouse Podcast "The Petrella sisters are the Brontes of horsemeat-substitute-themed picture books." --Mac Barnett, New York Times best-selling author of books for children "McSweeney's McMullens releases another wonderfully original and engaging book for kids." --Pop Candy "This is one of those just delightfully anarchic picture books, a delight up and down and through and through. ... It's a great story of kid-power, grown-ups as co-pilots in discovery, creativity, and unfettered gross-out weirdness." --Cory Doctorow, Boing Boing "The recipe was getting very thick. It needed water! I filled my squirt gun full of water and took aim. I am very good at squirt guns. 'MOM, ARE YOU WATCHING?'" - from the book
