About the Author

Csilla Papp is a jewelry designer who works primarily with soutache braid, beads, crystals and leather, and has been creating beaded pieces for retail since January 2011. Shortly after, she started writing a blog and I slowly learned more advanced design through self-teaching. She has worked in beadweaving and bead embroidery, but feels soutache best suits hers style. About half a year after making her first soutache creation, the owner of a bead shop ask her to make tutorials for them. Following the birth of her second child she continued to write tutorials and began growing her online fan base. She participated in the Stitch and Craft Show with The Beadsmith -- Europe's largest trade show for the creative craft industries, introducing the technique of soutache at this show. In response she received requests from bead shops in England and from the USA to teach soutache workshops. Her work has been published in magazines in Australia and England. She has had requests from The Jewelry Channel TV to represent the soutache technique in England also had a request from The Big Bead Show in London to teach workshops at the show. Recently she has decide to focus on her two children and limit jewelry sales and tutorials for her Etsy shop only, which sells her pieces in the UK, Europe, USA and particularly in Japan.

Reviews

"The directions are thorough, and there are plenty of images to guide novices along the way. These items boast daring color and large focal embellishments and even the smaller pieces are attention getters; these aren't accessories to wear to blend in with the crowd. Jewelrymakers interested in experimenting with soutache, as well as fans of statement jewelry, will be drawn to Papp's intricate designs." --Library Journal

"Whether you are a beginner or advanced level, you will find something to enjoy... This is a really comprehensive and beautiful book if you are interested in trying some Soutache for yourself." --Bead Magazine
