Stephan Jost is director of the Honolulu Museum of Art. Shawn Eichman is curator of Asian Art at the Honolulu Museum of Art. Eichman is a specialist in Japanese and Chinese art, and received his master's degree in Asian studies and his PhD in Chinese literature from the University of Hawaii-Manoa. He has held curatorial positions at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, Mo., and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. Stephen Salel is the Robert F. Lange Foundation Research Associate for Japanese Art at the Honolulu Museum of Art. He holds a BFA in Painting form the San Francisco Art Institute, an MFA in Painting from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, and an MA in Art History from the University of Washington.
