In a countdown format each volume features the top ten for the subject with an explanation of why/how it was chosen. At the number ten spot for bugs is the puss caterpillar that injects a poison capable of causing paralysis. Taking the number one spot is the mosquito. Generally annoying, yes, but capable of spreading malaria. In Africa, "a child dies from malaria every 30 seconds." Students will be drawn to the full-color graphic photos. Give these to reluctant readers.-- "Pennsylvania School Librarians Association"
