Set in 1927 and with the threat of persecution increasing, a young Jewish girl is sent overseas be her worried Russian family. Once she arrives in England, her identity and memory are stripped as she is re-named and given a new life. Ten years later, Suzie leaves England for Paris to start a new life. While working in a prestigious opera company, she meets and falls in love with gypsy horse handler, Cesar. As the Nazi threat intensifies, Suzie is forced once again to flee the life she had created and leave all that she loves behind.
