Based on a Stephen King short story, the 2007 horror film 1408 features an orchestral score by veteran composer Gabriel Yared. Primarily known for his work on sweeping epics (COLD MOUNTAIN, THE ENGLISH PATIENT), Yared uses the smaller scale of this supernatural tale to focus on an acute sense of menace, as revealed on "Bleeding Walls" and "Inside the Vent."
