Santa Barbara, California-based foursome Rebelution play a jamband-tinged blend of reggae and rock that, on the strength of just two self-releases (an EP and a full-length debut, 2007's COURAGE TO GROW), has managed to garner a devoted fan following. The band's follow-up, THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE, builds on a solid foundation of dub-inflected drums and bass, augmented by keyboardist Rory Carey's bright, percussive vamps on B3 organ and guitarist Eric Rachmany's bluesy Santana-esque blasts, particularly on the horn-driven positivity anthem, "The Bright Side of Life."
