  • Undergoing an almost complete metamorphosis from the boilerplate pop-punk of their debut, Illinois quartet Madina Lake substantially deepen their approach with experimental flourishes on ATTICS TO EDEN, their sophomore release on Roadrunner. Furthering the unifying concept of their debut, ATTICS TO EDEN tells the story of their lost protagonist, Adalia, and her trip to Eden, and provides new clues for fans via a map included with the packaging. Producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin) drops burbling keyboards, handclaps, and other studio tricks to burnish Madina Lake's sound, but the album ultimately succeeds on the searing hooks of guitarist Mateo Camargo and Nathan Leone's high-flying vocals.
Professional Reviews
Kerrang (Magazine) (p.52) - "They're shinier, cleaner and more attractive in nearly every sense than the energetic, spring-loaded tunes of their debut."
