Personnel: Herb Robertson (vocals, trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, valve trombone); Mack Goldsbury (vocals, tenor & soprano saxophones, clarinet); David Taylor (bass trombone); Ed Schuller (bass); Phil Haynes (drums, percussion).
Recorded at Sorcerer Sound, New York, New York on March 17-19, 1991.
Trumpeter Herb Robertson doesn't plug into any musical trend, whether it's hard bop, repertory, or fusion. He's among a handful of contemporary players who defy easy compartmentalization while striving for their own voice and sound. The results can be successful, irritating, chaotic, or uneventful, but they're never dull or predictable. ~ Ron Wynn

Option (Nov.-Dec./92, p.140) - "...[Robertson] has concocted a daffy quintet album that has equal roots in Cage and Mingus....It's all wild and constantly surprising....Louis Armstrong would be proud..."
