In the short time between their mega-selling 2007 release and this '08 hit album, the New Life Church of Colorado Springs went through some tough times. One of their beloved pastors quit in a firestorm of controversy, and an unrelated fatal shooting occurred onsite shortly after. These tragedies seem to have inspired the best New Life Church album yet. Strong Christian-themed pop anthems abound on this release, written and sung by Jared Anderson, Glenn Packaim, and Jon Egan, with touches of R&B that spice up the genereral CCM template. "I Will Stand" in particular sparkles with a robust melody and inspiring lyrics.
