Recorded at G/H-New African Studio and Sound Farik, Munich, from January to April 1991.
All songs written by Florian Fricke.
Popul Vu was created by Florian Fricke who is best known for his film score collaborations with director Werner Herzog ("Fitzcarraldo," "Nosferatu," and "Aguirre, the Wrath of God"). He is also considered a pioneer in new age and world music.
Popol Vuh's 1991 release comes as a positive celebration of world music, guided by the sure hand of Florian Fricke. Among those recruited for the journey is Renate Knaup-Aschauer, who provides celebratory vocals for music that shifts, sometimes giddily, from Africa to Ireland to South America. Never static, never uninteresting, For You and Me provides a strong statement for diversity within the Popol Vuh catalog. ~ Steven McDonald
