On this 2008 outing, the punk-pop ensemble Less Than Jake makes a prominent return to its signature third-wave-ska sound after somewhat of a departure with 2006's IN WITH THE OUT CROWD, deemed by some to be too slick and accessible. More in line with the spirit of LTJ's lauded '03 album, ANTHEM, GNV FLA (an abbreviation of the band's hometown--Gainesville, Florida) features buoyant horn lines (see the sunny "City of Gainesville") and jaunty 2 Tone melodies (the propulsive "Does the Lion City Still Roar?"), proving that the Pez-fueled group is at its finest when staying close to its roots.

Kerrang (Magazine) (p.57) - "Throughout it all, drummer Vinnie Fiorello's lyrics remain exploratory and cathartic, the chorus is still king and LTJ still sound unmistakably like themselves, untouched by current trends and fads."
