  • The amazing thing about this album is that the unknown Lang holds his own in such eminent company. Each guitarist plays four self-penned, acoustic, instrumental tunes, beginning with a typically impressive display by Kottke. Lang includes a tune called "Thoth Song," which almost succeeds in re-creating the mystery that was ancient Egypt. In Fahey's four songs you can hear his influence on Kottke, although Fahey remains one of a kind. This album is worth a search. ~ Mark Allan
Professional Reviews
Q (10/96, p.192) - 3 Stars - Good - "...Kottke was (and still is) the most accomplished, Fahey the most influential. And Lang, the least known, was no slouch..."

Down Beat (11/96, p.61) - 4 Stars - Very Good - "Only disappointment with this 1974 album is it's a sampler of guitar pioneers rather than a trio project..."

Musician (9/96, p.87) - "...here captured at the peak of their powers, both of finger and of composition....plenty of resonatingly good stuff..."
