  • Big-voiced 1970s Canadian pop star Gino Vannelli found his first chart success with his sophomore effort, POWERFUL PEOPLE. Featuring the title track and the funky hit single, "You Gotta Move," the album is a slick, synth-driven mix of dance music, R&B, and progressive rock-influenced pop. Other highlights include the Paul Simon-esque "Son of a New York Gun," and "Poor Happy Jimmy," a touching tribute to the then-recently deceased singer/songwriter Jim Croce.
