The Seldom Scene (Bluegrass): Chris Eldridge (guitar); Dudley Connell, Fred Travers, Lou Reid , Ronnie Simpkins (background vocals); Ben Eldridge.
Personnel: Dudley Connell (vocals, guitar); Fred Travers (vocals, dobro); Lou Reid (vocals, mandolin); Ben Eldridge (guitar, banjo).
Their first album since 2000's SCENE IT ALL, 2007's SCENECHRONIZED finds the Seldom Scene picking up the progressive bluegrass torch where they left it and running full speed once again. With original banjoist Ben Eldridge leading a new configuration, the Seldom Scene have lost none of their passion for high lonesome music, and they apply their touch artfully to tunes by Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard, Steve Earle, and John Fogerty, among others. Beautiful harmonies and fine instrumental work top off the lovely overall atmosphere of SCENECHRONIZED.
