Just as they did a decade earlier with GOD BLESS US ALL and DIGGIN' UNCLE Q, NRBQ released a pair of live recordings which perfectly document their prowess as a legendary live act. YOU GOTTA BE LOOSE was released a year after TOKYO (which was recorded while on tour in Japan), and bears the subtitle "Recorded Live In The USA." At the time of these recordings Johnny Spampinato had been on board as their new guitarist for a couple years. Fully integrated into the ensemble, he also brought along some of his own fine songs and "Be Here Now" positively shimmers (the song had its origins in his previous band, The Incredible Casuals). His singing on the title cut and album closer is truly amazing. Also on hand are trombonist Tyrone Hill and trumpet player Dave Gordon, who've been working with the band off and on during the '90s (as well as playing in The Sun Ra Arkestra).
